Hey, Iv been messing around with the McSharp server files, and think I may have found away to get the IRC Bot to work.

First off Im pretty sure I have a drastically different McSharp then what we are currently using but hopefully this information is the same.

go into server.properties with notepad(obviously) and go to the bot info
(Mine looks like this, hopefully yours does to)

# irc bot options
irc = false
irc-nick = MCsharp
irc-server = irc.esper.net
irc-channel = #changethis
irc-port = 6667
irc-identify = False
irc-password =

Ok to get the bot working change the following:

# irc bot options
irc = true <---------------------[Change to true (duh)]
irc-nick = urch_bot <----------[Set a awsome name]
irc-server = irc.esper.net <----[If yours isnt this change it to this]
irc-channel = #urch <---------[set to #{name} but urch works
irc-port = 6667 <--------------[If yours isnt this set it to this]
irc-identify = False <----------[Leave this false for now]
irc-password = <--------------[Leave blank if previous is false]

Now when you start up your server you should see:
- Connecting to IRC
- Connected to IRC
- Joining channel
- urch_bot has joined the IRC channel

to go to the IRC channel get a IRC client or use this web based one:
http://loqirc.sourceforge.net/src/frameset.html

Hit connect at the top and for server put: irc.esper.net
and give your self a nickname: Urch
set the port to: 6667 (if it isnt already)

Hit connect and you should log in. Now at the bottom type in the text box:
/join #urch
you should join the channel and see your bot

In your server console you should see:
- Urch has joined the IRC channel

when you say something in IRC you should get:
- IRC: Urch: sup homies!

I Haven’t every seen what happens if someone talks in the minecraft server (because no one will let me forward their ports D:), but I think it will show up in the IRC

Also you won’t have moderator status on the IRC channel but I don’t think it will be a problem.
(also I avoided putting anything in the IRC_Controlers because people can come in with your name so it seemed pointless)

This is a nice feature, but RP in the server is suffering as it is. Making people come onto the server and talk gives some motivation to RP where-as sitting in IRC doesn't.
