This is a nice feature, but RP in the server is suffering as it is. Making people come onto the server and talk gives some motivation to RP where-as sitting in IRC doesn't.

Hey, Iv been messing around with the McSharp server files, and think I may have found away to get the IRC Bot to work.

First off Im pretty sure I have a drastically different McSharp then what we are currently using but hopefully this information is the same.

go into server.properties with notepad(obviously) and go to the bot info
(Mine looks like this, hopefully yours does to)

# irc bot options
irc = false
irc-nick = MCsharp
irc-server = irc.esper.net
irc-channel = #changethis
irc-port = 6667
irc-identify = False
irc-password =

Ok to get the bot working change the following:

# irc bot options
irc = true <---------------------[Change to true (duh)]
irc-nick = urch_bot <----------[Set a awsome name]
irc-server = irc.esper.net <----[If yours isnt this change it to this]
irc-channel = #urch <---------[set to #{name} but urch works
irc-port = 6667 <--------------[If yours isnt this set it to this]
irc-identify = False <----------[Leave this false for now]
irc-password = <--------------[Leave blank if previous is false]

Now when you start up your server you should see:
- Connecting to IRC
- Connected to IRC
- Joining channel
- urch_bot has joined the IRC channel

to go to the IRC channel get a IRC client or use this web based one:
http://loqirc.sourceforge.net/src/frameset.html

Hit connect at the top and for server put: irc.esper.net
and give your self a nickname: Urch
set the port to: 6667 (if it isnt already)

Hit connect and you should log in. Now at the bottom type in the text box:
/join #urch
you should join the channel and see your bot

In your server console you should see:
- Urch has joined the IRC channel

when you say something in IRC you should get:
- IRC: Urch: sup homies!

I Haven’t every seen what happens if someone talks in the minecraft server (because no one will let me forward their ports D:), but I think it will show up in the IRC

Also you won’t have moderator status on the IRC channel but I don’t think it will be a problem.
(also I avoided putting anything in the IRC_Controlers because people can come in with your name so it seemed pointless)

Yea I like demon worshiping, your thinking of the barbarian village right, but it should be more than that. The barbarians should think the demon is a servant of their god, come to lead them to the path of righteousness, and whether this is actually true is irrelevant.  Grin

Worshiping a single demon also works because they could feel the gods don’t take notice of them, and that this one particular demon is more interested in their well being. The fact that they so easily switched from worshiping one demon to another, however suggest that they worship a god more than one particular demon.

Also we should think about the dynamic system of how demons/fairies actually do have more direct contact with their particular god as this would make sense. How close they were with the god would be directly related with said demon/fairies power. Also I think that it would be better to have other planes of existence in which the gods lived, because we could have it for that when a demon/fairy dies, instead of simply not existing anymore they are sent back to their native plane. Possible plane names are abyss for demons and celestial for fairies. Said demon/fairy can only come back to the natural realm by being summoned for short periods of time, or through an extensive ritual to bind them once more to the natural realm. If they die again however they are sent back to the abyss/celestial again. While banished from the natural realm most daemons and maybe even some fairies would probably plan how to exact revenge on the one/ones that killed them should they ever make it back to the natural realm.

Name:Shevral "Andco" Nifelviend

Race:Elf

Bio/Traits/physical description(sorry for putting these in one long text, but I simply have it easier to write it this way): The first word that comes to mind when describing Shevral is hardened. Being one of the hunters of the elves of the northern wastes has given him some endurance and agility. While being weak to physical hits, he is quite adapt at avoiding them... whenever the foe makes it up to him as he uses a bow as a weapon. The bow, as well as the arrows are made of hardened-bone. Also wearing two daggers, one made for fighting, and one for fletching, carving and skining. Both got a blade of steel and a hilt of bone. Being about 7'2" in height makes him loom over most of his kin in his village, and with his stunning white skin, ice blue eyes and pale skin even men admit he is a beauty among men. He were banished from his first village, as they learnt he had a lover in another tribes. However, that tribe took him in, but refused to let him continue with hunting. Instead, they learnt him magic. He were never let close to a weapon, until the day when two men from his first village snuck into his hut and killed his wife in her sleep. He woke from her dying scream, and managed to protect himself with magic until help arrived. After that incident he were banished from that village too, with supplies, money and the weapons he are still using today, and set off south.

Gear:Weapons can be read in the text above. As for the armor, he is wearing a tunic made from cloth above a chestguard of leather, which also covers his arms (the tunic only got short sleeves). Leather boots and leather pants. For magic, he is adept in some shielding and curative magic, as well as enchanting magic. He have two ropes with him at all times, as well as a small hook made from iron, some dried food, water and herbs.

Hey I recently made a cleric skin and thought that the concept of clerics could use debating.

My Take on clerics:

Clerics worship a certain deity, the alignment of said deity determines the cleric’s alignment obviously, all their power comes from their deity and instead of casting a particular spell the cleric actually channels a small part of their patron gods power through a holy symbol relating to said god. Clerics almost always are heavily based on healing magic, as in a adventuring group it is usually the clerics job to heal every one of their wounds. Aside from healing magic, clerics also come equipped with powerful attacks against undead, that is if they happen to worship a good aligned god. For evil clerics they have pretty much the opposite powers as to that of good, They heal undead instead of killing them and hurt living instead of healing them, evil clerics tend to become or be known as necromancers. The pros of being a cleric would be the ability to wear heavy armors such as full plate and still be able to use spell because they are merely channeling their gods power instead of casting a complicated spell, also clerics would not get tired from casting spells or even casting large spells for that matter. The cons of being a cleric are simply they only have a certain number of spells allotted to them each day, usually a large powerful spell, a few moderate hurt spells, and a butt load of minor healing spells. The higher level spells can be switched out for higher healing spells but not vice versa. Secondly due to the fact that a cleric is not actually using mana they cannot use mana potions to regain their spell abilities, they can however perform a long and extensive ritual to ask their deity for more spells but this is not ideal for say getting spells back in a major battle as it takes too long to perform.

I realize that with the addition of clerics it would also mean having to make up deities, but this actually a good thing as deities are an important part of shaping a rp universe as the deities tend to be the number one driving force behind most factions actions. Also making up deities can be fun, and who says there has to be just one or two for that matter you can have a good aligned deity that the main city worships, a more brutal and warlike deity that the barbarians worship, and of course your classic sinister and pure evil deity that the assassins favor. The choice is yours this post is merely a representation of a possible outlook on clerics and deities, and I encourage everyone, not just Urch, to comment on this thread if they feel something needs to be added or removed.

There are a few problems with your app. Firstly, the entire bio is filled with ridiculously long run-on sentences. Second, lizardmen only live around 50 years at the oldest. and third, i don't quite know why you have a [demon] tag in your name. apart from this however, the application is actually fairly sound and interesting.

Ya sorry about the really long sentances i just really like to rp and i really like to play minecraft so i was kinda excited when i wrote this but ya the reason i had demon was because i was reading the differant things about each and i thought the info i was reading was from the fairy/demon section but later realized it was in the lizardman section so i went in and changed in, and ive done so again correcting the parts you noted on. I also didn't change the bio just because i kinda like the whole story ive told here and don't really want to comprimise what ive already done here, please tell me if thats a problem and id be gald to fix it.
